About Me

My name is Sarah, some people call me Sarita.  I'm a small-town American girl living abroad in Seville, Spain, which is a pretty amazing place.

I grew up in the 'burbs of Boston, Massachusetts, where all of my family still resides.  I graduated from Connecticut College in 2000 and spent most of my last two years studying abroad in Spain, at the same place where I now work.  I moved to Seville permanently in 2004 and while I miss my friends and family back home, and some things about living here drive me batty, I'm staying put.

"sometimes you wanna go..."

In 2008 life changed drastically for me and I found myself at a crossroads.  I serendipitously met a wonderful man named Daniel and we fell in love.  We began our family in 2010, when our beautiful daughter Manuela was born.  We hope to keep adding to the clan.  I suffered a miscarriage in late 2011 but we hope 2012 is our year to give Manuela a sibling.

My days are spent working hard at a study abroad program for American students (I'm the Director of Custom Programs and Cultural Activities at Spanish Studies Abroad) and my evenings and weekends are spent doing fun things with my family and friends.

I love to cook, bake, create, design, plan, scheme, shop, read, write, browse, rock out to classic rock, watch movies and TV.  I also love to travel (especially the planning part!) and there are still so many places in this world that I must explore.  On the short list are Paris, Prague and London.  I'll be the first to admit that it's embarrassing to have been living in Europe this long and never been to these cities.

I take millions of pictures and videos and share them on Facebook, some of which you will see on this blog.

I count myself lucky to have amazing friends all over the world with whom I am in touch daily via the World Wide Web.

Can you keep up with me?

P.S.  If you're a fellow expat Mommy, I'd love to hear from you!  Please leave me a comment if you have any topics you'd like for me to cover in this blog or any questions at all.

  1. Sara!
